Help for The Gracious Quran app on iPhone, Android and Huawei phones, and the companion watch apps.

Reading

Reading modes. In Settings you can read the English rendering alone, the Arabic alone, or both together. The page-by-page mode shows the Arabic on the pages of the muṣḥaf.
Word notes. Press and hold a word to see its note where one exists.
Bookmarks and position. The app remembers where you stopped. Bookmarks are kept on your device only.

Two voices. The Listen tab plays the Arabic recitation, the English narration, or both verse by verse. Switch between them with the Arabic / English / Both control.
Offline listening. Use the download icon next to a surah to save its audio to your device; downloaded surahs play without a connection. You can remove downloads from the Downloads screen.
Background play. Playback continues with the screen off and can be controlled from the lock screen.

Location. Prayer times and the qibla need your approximate location, which is used on your device only. If you declined the permission, allow it in your phone's settings for the app.
Calculation method. The method and the Asr convention can be changed in the prayer settings.
Widgets. The prayer-times widget and the continue-reading widget are added from your home screen like any other widget. If a widget looks out of date, open the app once so it can refresh.
Reminders. Turn the athan on or off per prayer. On Android the app may ask for permission to schedule exact alarms so the athan sounds on time.

Apple Watch. The watch app installs with the iPhone app and shows the next prayer, today's times, the qibla and reminders, with complications for the watch face.
Huawei watches. The watch app is a separate download from AppGallery for Huawei watches.

Audio will not play. Check your connection; the first play of a verse needs the internet unless the surah is downloaded. If a downloaded surah fails, remove the download and save it again.
Prayer times look wrong. Confirm the location permission is allowed and the phone's time zone is correct, then check the calculation method in the prayer settings.
No athan. Make sure notifications are allowed for the app and the phone is not in a focus or silent mode that blocks them.
